AN EAST Lancashire operatic society is to start rehearsing Richard Rodgers' Carousel -- in the centenary year of his birth.
The Greenbrook Methodist Church society in Burnley will stage the colourful show from April 3 to 8. Rehearsals start next Monday, November 19, at 7.45pm.
Secretary Wendy Curson said new members were always welcome.
The production and choreography will be by Edward Munday and musical direction by Jack Barrett.
At the East Lancashire Noda awards night recently, the Greenbrook production of Oliver was nominated for Best Costume Design.
Meanwhile, the traditional family pantomime Cinderella will hit the stage between January 8 and 12 in the Church Hall, Greenbrook Road, Lowerhouse, Burnley, starting each night at 7.30pm. There will be a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm.
