I FULLY agree with Chief Superintendent John Thompson who calls for the abolition of the retailing of fireworks (LET, November 6).
When I was a boy, Bonfire Night, or Guy Fawkes Night was held on November 5 and that night only.
Nowadays, this pyrotechnical idiocy starts around October 1.
The nightly cacophony is awful! God help anybody ill and in bed! Bonfires are also a menace.
Let's face it, fireworks are explosives and highly dangerous. Let's be done with them all.
Again, why should we celebrate the death of a fundamentalist Catholic psychopath?
