GRIMSBY boss Lennie Lawrence is expected to contact Rovers in the next 24 hours about extending Marlon Broomes' loan deal at Blundell Park.
Broomes has spent the last two months on loan with the Mariners and became a huge hit with the fans when he scored in their Worthington Cup win over Liverpool. And the 23-year-old is now desperate to secure a permanent move away from Ewood after accepting he has no future at the club.
"As soon as Graeme Souness took over, I knew I had no chance," admitted Broomes.
"I got the feeling he had made up his mind from day one.
"I do have feelings for the club, I joined them at 16 and am their longest-serving player. I have got on well with all the other managers who have passed through."
