SUE Howard from Blackburn's T-Bar has cleaned up at prestigious awards dinner.
Facing tough competition from throughout the Thwaites Inns estate, Sue won the Kitchen Hygiene Award at the awards ceremony at Turf Moor. Thwaites retail director Paul Howarth said: "Sue was under a little pressure in this category because she is one of our hygiene trainers. So in a sense she was there to be shot at, but she fully deserved the award."
Sue, who has been at the T-Bar for five years, picked up a cheque for £100 and a hamper. The Thwaites Inns estate includes some 72 pubs and 38 catering establishments and judges conducted a series of walk-in kitchen audits throughout the year right across the catering estate.
Four visits are made to each pub throughout the year and the marks they pick up are averaged out to find the eventual winners.
Mr Howarth added: "The scores for the T-Bar (which used to be known as Toffs) were absolutely phenomenal."
