DRINKERS in Blackburn can walk like an Egyptian if they visit the refurbished Baroque this Saturday.
The Northgate bar, which has had a £10,000 revamp, is now hosting theme nights every Friday and Saturday with an extended bar until 2am. And if enough drinkers are up for it, the new managers have promised to stay open until 2am on Wednesday nights and 12.30am on Sundays as well.
Pauline Charlton and Brian Rigby took over the pumps last month and brightened the place up in just a week with purple and green paint and £6,000 worth of new lighting.
The two friends decided to find a pub together after a casual suggestion by Pauline, 33.
Brian, 42, said: "I thought, why not? But when we moved in it was very bland so we decided to brighten it up."
Evenings at the pub are also set to be more lively with the introduction of theme nights including French and Egyptian.
Bar staff will be dressed as French maids and belly dancers and special drinks offers will be held after 11.30pm. Music on these nights will be a mix from the 60s 70s 80s and 90s.
The couple have also introduced a new food menu incorporating traditional pub grub and bar snacks to be served between noon and 2.30pm.
