REGARDING Dom Egan and his seven-point 'laughter list' (Sport Letters, November 6), he should have stopped to think before writing in.
1) Rovers have spent £100 million on great players -- international players, not has-beens. When was the last time Burnley fielded 11 international players on one day -- current players on international duty, that is, not ex-internationals?
2) Batty and Le Saux were foolish and left the Rovers when not to the standard any more.
3) Trelleborgs "a team of part-timers" who made it into Europe? The last time Burnley were in Europe was the Eurovision Song Contest.
4) It is too soon to judge Ciccio Grabbi and Kevin Davies was a mistake, but thank goodness we didn't buy Steve Daley like Burnley did.
5) Manchester United are our rivals since Burnley are not on the same planet as us, as the 5-0 and 2-0 results proved.
6) Sven Goran Eriksson was a manager Rovers wanted and for two months we had him. But he stayed at a top club in Italy before moving on to the England job. What happened to John Bond and Chris Waddle?
7) Just ask Stephen Cummings to read Simon Leigh's comments to find out how to write a good column about football.
