YOUNGSTERS at Helmshore Primary School were happy to help their local hospice raise money by taking home collecting tins to fill with pennies.
The Penny Pinching Appeal is encouraging people from all over Rossendale to save up their loose change, pop it into a brightly coloured collecting tin and then post it in one of the hospice houses which have been sited in the borough's large supermarkets.
Last year the penny pinching appeal raised £10,000 and appeals director for Rossendale Hospice Liz Nelson said she hoped this year's would raise even more.
