BRAVE leukaemia sufferer Beth Rogan will be able to enjoy her first family holiday for a number of years thanks to the people of Barnoldswick.
A group of friends from Sam's Salon and the Barnoldswick and Earby Bosom Friends took part in a fancy dress pub crawl around the town and raised £544.
Dressed as police officers, girls from St Trinian's, Dennis the Menace and the Bay City Rollers, the girls grabbed their buckets to collect the cash for 13-year-old Beth.
The teenager, a pupil at West Craven High School, diagnosed with the illness in April, has now finished her chemotherapy treatment.
She has to wait a further two years before the doctors can say whether she is officially in the clear, but she will go back to school next week for the mornings until Christmas.
Her mum Sarah was delighted with the support shown during the collection. She said: "I am really pleased with how much was collected. When Beth found out she was amazed. We knew they were doing a collection for a family holiday for us, but didn't know how big a response there would be.
"We will use the money so that we can all go away together as a family because there are six of us. It has been quite a while since we had a holiday."
Beth has two older sisters, Kate and Melissa, and a brother, James.
Mary Brennan, one of the fundraisers, said the Bosom Friends are hoping to give some money to boost the final total for the holiday.
A race night will take place tonight at 8pm at the Rolls Royce Sports and Social Club, Barnoldswick, with all proceeds going to Beth and her friend, David Morris, who suffers from non-Hodgkins lymphoma.
