A 19-YEAR-OLD youth said to have inflicted "sickening violence" on a club bouncer is awaiting sentence.
Martin Carroll was found guilty of wounding Carlos Alberto Torres after a three-day trial at Burnley Crown Court and was remanded in custody until December 11, for a pre-sentence report.
Carroll, of Florence Street, Burnley, was cleared of the more serious charge of wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm.
The jury had been told how Carroll was said by the prosecution to have "set about" Mr Torres as trouble erupted at the Cross Keys hotel in Burnley, in July.
John Chaplin, for the Crown said Carroll took advantage of a violent situation while Mr Torres was being attacked by others.
Mr Chaplin told the court Carroll stamped on the bouncer, hit him with a bottle and kicked him in the face, using his head like a football.
The prosecutor said Carroll laughed and appeared to have been enjoying himself as he stood over Mr Torres.
