A WOMAN was robbed in an alleyway in Lancaster city centre on Saturday evening - for just £8.
The 35-year-old woman was walking along King's Street between 6.45pm and 7pm on Saturday evening when she noticed a man waiting in Bashful Alley.
She was grabbed around the shoulder and dragged into the alley, where he said 'don't worry I won't hurt you, I only want your money' which he repeated twice.
The woman handed over £8 from her purse before heading for the nearby main road to ask for help.
The man is believed to have run towards the pedestrianised area of the city centre.
The man is described as white, in his 20s, approximately 6ft 2in tall, of stocky build, wearing a black light jacket and jeans and had dark straggly hair.
Witnesses are asked to contact Lancaster police on 01524 63333.
