TWO separate crashes on the M6 motorway left one man dead and another seriously injured this week.
On Monday, an 18-year-old man understood to be from the Lancaster area, was hit after walking on to the north bound carriageway in the Caton area.
The man was knocked unconscious in a collision with a HGV close to junction 34 of the motorway.
The Lancashire Air Ambulance was called in to take the man to the Royal Preston Hospital where he was said earlier this week to be in a critical condition.
The crash lead to the closure of the motorway in both directions for around an hour.
A crash on Sunday close to Burton-in-Kendal services lead to the death of Robert James Hargreaves, 43, of Devon Street, Blackpool.
His Volvo car is understood to have been in collision with two cars travelling in the opposite direction on a temporary contraflow.
Another man, Lesley McNair, 50, from Glasgow, was said to be in a stable condition at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary.
