A LYTHAM school will prove that wizard fever extends beyond the bounds of Harry Potter and Hogwarts Academy as they perform a spellbinding play based on a novel by best-selling author Terry Pratchett.

A magical cast of 30 pupils from King Edward and Queen Mary School will be on stage for three performances of Pratchett's Discworld story, The Wyrd Sisters, from November 21 to 23.

Katie Plucknett, Joanne Piancastelli and Lucy Blaze play the title roles in a special adaptation by producer Ian Clark.

Junior school pupils from Wrea Green, Hall Park and King Edwards and Queen Mary Juniors will join in as a chorus.

School principal Julian Wilde said he was expecting a dramatic and colourful show: "It should be quite a spectacular," he said.
