MORECAMBE lie just five points above the Conference relegation zone after another defeat at Farnborough in the Conference.
Cynics would argue that Morecambe should start getting used to seeing Brentford players scoring against them and, with just five minutes on the clock, they had their first experience of that.
Julian Charles, on loan at Farnborough because he can't get a game at Griffin Park, volleyed the ball past keeper Craig Mawson after the Shrimps' defence failed to clear the ball properly.
Morecambe were back on terms 10 minutes later, with young striker Robbie Talbot, who looks the brightest spark in their line up this season, doing the damage.
The former Burscough man, ran on to an Ian Arnold through ball to secure a deserved equaliser.
Tempers began to flare on and off the pitch, with boss Graham Westley and Shrimps assistant Ian Dalziel watching most of the game from the stands after a touchline bust-up.
Things got even worse for Morecambe deep into stoppage time when the lively Lennie Piper headed what proved to be the winning goal.
The visitors amongst the 695 fans who chose to miss the England game in favour of a long journey had to contemplate more hours on the road with no points to show for it.
Morecambe now face a two week break from league action before their long awaited return to Christie Park for a game against Conference surprise package Margate on November 24.
