BURY skipper Martyn Forrest has revealed the Shakers FA Cup aim - a third round tie against Manchester United.
The midfielder - who has taken over the captain's armband from out of favour Paul Reid - is fully aware of the importance of a good cup run.
A third round tie against one of the glamour clubs would raise enough cash to ensure the club did not need to sell any of its players.
Victory at Lincoln City tomorrow is therefore a must.
"I think our aim has got to be to get to the third round," said Forrest, the son of former Shakers goalkeeping legend John.
"We want to reach that stage so we have a chance of drawing one of the big boys. I know the chairman would like it if we could get Manchester United or maybe Liverpool.
"But it won't be easy at Lincoln and we need to improve our form away from home. We've been playing well at Gigg Lane but if we put some results together away from home then we will start to get out of trouble." Martyn Forrest
