I READ in The Citizen that Redrow Homes had applied to South Ribble Borough Council to build 20 detached houses on the old Dever coal yard land in Cowling Lane.

This is such a tiny strip of land and surely not big enough to build 20 detached homes.

But is this the right street to build new houses? There have been so many youngsters knocked down crossing Leyland Lane at the Cowling Lane junction recently. A further 20 new homes will bring more families with more cars. It is simply another example of profit before people.

Does a child have to be killed at this junction before anything is done?

A worried mum, Name and address supplied.
