BACUP boss Brent Peters think he has a star for the future in striker Jason Lanns.
Lanns has just picked up the Second Division Player of the Month award after joining the West View side at the start of the season.
The 19-year-old has a good pedigree, being at Leeds for four years and then onto Rochdale, but was released by both clubs.
Peters however thinks he can get back into the pro game. "Jason has an abundance of talent.
"He is a quality player and I would love to see him playing back in the professional game.
"Some of the goals he has scored have been top drawer. I think perhaps the reason Jason didn't make it at the pro club's is because he is a bit hot-headed but we are working on that."
Lanns has scored seven goals for Bacup but the goals for column is a worrying factor for Peters.
"Jason is the only player that looks like he will score for us. He can turn a game. I have brought in two strikers in Julian Dowe and Shaun Cryer but at the moment they are both playing in other positions - and doing well!"
Bacup are at home to Chadderton tomorrow looking for their first win in four NWCL Division Two games - although they have defeated First Division opposition in two cups recently.
