Boro go to Town

IT is as close as it comes to a six pointer tomorrow for Radcliffe Boro in the away Unibond League Division One fixture at Ossett Town.

Boro go into the game with a five point cushion at the top of the table over the Yorkshire side but from having played one game more. A win would extend that lead to eight points, defeat cut it to two and that game in hand would become crucial for Ossett.

Boro manager Kevin Glendon could hardly ask to be better placed as in addition to the current table-topping position his side has won its last three matches and the injury list has finally shortened drastically.

Eamonn Kelly, Dave Collins, Lee Kissock, Andy Walker, Simon Kelly and trialist Nathan Wharton are all eager to be given their chance.

In the NWCL Division One in-form Atherton Colleries entertain third from bottom Congelton Town at Alder House, Atherton LR travel away to Nantwich Town, whilst Ramsbottom United are at Warrington Town.

In Division Two Daisy Hill are at home to Formby with a 2pm kick off. Three local sides bid to clinch a place in the quarter finals of the Lancs FA Amateur Challenge Shield. The Charnock Richard/Atherton Town tie looks to be the pick of the round four draw. Shaun Lynch's Town side is setting the pace at the top of the Premier Division of the Manchester League and tomorrow's opponents are doing the same in the top flight of the West Lancs. Not far behind that clash as a major attraction is Blackrod Town away at Fulwood Amateurs.

Elton Fold also face a difficult away game at Wigan Amateur League side Hindley Town. LAL Premier Division Rivington make a second attempt to stage their Lancs FA Amateur Cup round four tie against Liverpool-based Zingari League side Warbreck.
