FORENSIC scientists have begun analysing a substance which left a man unconscious in a police cell.
Roland Enticott, 26, of Whitebirk Drive, Blackburn, was today back in police custody after being discharged from the casualty department at Blackburn Royal Infirmary.
He had been taken to hospital after injecting himself with the substance while in a police cell at Blackburn Police Station where he was on remand on a theft charge.
A police spokesman said: "We have launched an investigation which is likely to last some weeks. The substance in question has been sent for analysis to establish what it is and we will also be trying to trace exactly where it came from."
