LIVERPOOL boss Phil Thompson said "THE lads were magnificent. It's a difficult place to come -- they've been very consistent of late, but do I feel we should have had three points? Yes, is the answer.
"We had control of the game in the last 20-25 minutes and we should have won it.
"I thought Robbie Fowler was going to win it for us, I thought Danny Murphy was going to win it for us. "And I also thought we should have had a penalty.
"It's disappointing, especially when the referee was so close. But he has to make a decision and make it quickly and you have to accept it.
"It wasn't a classic by any means but I thought we showed a great level of commitment.
"As for Michael's goal, you saw his ability in the air two weeks ago in the win over Manchester United.
"It was a fantastic leap, but it was also the power behind the header.
"It showed there is more to Michael's make-up than just pace.
"He is a strong boy and if you look at his physique then what he did should not surprise anyone."
BRAD FRIEDEL: "I THINK we've got to be disappointed that Owen was the one who scored a header against us.
"But having said that, he's got an incredible leap and he managed to get up a little bit infront of Henning.
"So although he's the smallest guy on the pitch he's probably got the highest leap and you've got to take that into consideration. "That's the reason why he's England's number one forward."
MATT JANSEN: "THE plan was to sit deep and let them have it at the back and we did that, but once they got the goal, you could sense the crowd were getting a little bit frustrated at us not pressing them higher up the field.
"But there's no point us chasing everything and then getting so tired we can't do anything once we have the ball.
"So our gameplan worked, we got a point against a quality side and we could have maybe had three."
