A CONFERENCE has been held in Accrington's Globe Centre to discuss the new Government White Paper ' Valuing People: a new strategy for learning disability for the 21st century'.
Representatives from dozens of organisations, local councils, housing associations and service users along with their carers gathered for the meeting and their views are to be used to plan service provision in the future.
County Councillor Doreen Pollitt, deputy leader of Lancashire County Council, said: "The department of health has really tried to make this White Paper easy for people to understand with the information available in user friendly booklets.
"We decided to go one step further and hold this conference to tell even more people about the plans for learning and disability services."
