Sky Blues boss Roland Nilsson said "WE had five main players missing and it showed. Normally you are making two changes but if you have to make five it is going to be very, very hard, especially against a team like Burnley.

"The players tried hard enough but we let ourselves down int he first half by trying to play too much football. We needed to be hard workers but for some reason we didn't do that.

"They are top of the table and anyone who gets there is worthy leaders. They have got 37 points and they definitely deserve to be up there.

"They work very hard as a team and we knew that at the start having seen their last two games."

Clarets manager Stan Ternent said "IT was a good day for us to play Coventry because they were depleted. But that happens to teams and there will be days when we have people out with injuries and suspensions. That is why you have a squad.

"But I can't worry about their team, I have enough to do looking after my mob.

"Kevin Ball did well at centre half but we know he can do that, he is top drawer and experienced at the top level. It is important with a lack of funds that when I take a player they have to be able to play in different positions.

"Westy, Weller and Glen showed good movement down the right but it was an all round good team performance."
