I AM so grateful for my disabled driver's blue badge, it has given me a new lease of life. I no longer have to stand in agony waiting for a bus. I can, hopefully, find a parking space near to the library or the shops.
But you might see me get out of the car and walk away as if nothing was wrong. But hang around long enough and you will see me crawling back, supported by the stick I carry folded up in my shopping bag, heaving myself back into the car with a sigh of relief, so thankful that I do not have to prolong the agony by standing waiting for a bus.
When I have had my hip operation, I will return the blue badge with pleasure.
BARBARA RIDING, Fairhope Court, Blackburn.
