STUDENTS in the Childhood Studies department at Blackburn College raised £1,080 in just a few hours -- for Children in Need.
They organised a sponsored car wash; dressed in Victorian costumes and sold cakes and biscuits at college reception areas. They also held a tombola and a raffle; and put on dancing and nail art sessions.
A college spokesman said: "The department always excels at raising money for charities. The students dedicate a lot of their own time and effort in organising events for fund-raising and they deserve big congratulations."
