I ANTICIPATE that at the next local elections the ballot paper will have to be issued in the form of a booklet to accommodate the hundreds of people who will be queuing to fill these lucrative jobs.
After all, where else can you get an occupation where you can reduce your workload by 50 per cent and still justify a 10 per cent pay increase?
The pay increase recommended for Blackburn with Darwen councillors is supposed to be in line with those of neighbouring authorities, but comparing the expenses that have been published Blackburn councillors already seem to be considerably above those of comparable authorities.
