I AGREE with Ribble Valley MP Nigel Evans that the trouble-making 11-year-old made the subject of an Anti-Social Behaviour Order should be named (LET, November 15).
In fact, I think all young people who continually reoffend should be named, no matter what their age.
Children know from a very early age what is right and what is wrong, so it is time we stopped molly coddling them and shamed them into behaving themselves.
Magistrate Paul Firth should start thinking about the victims for a change.
I also think the public should be allowed to protect themselves to a certain extent, without the threat of prosecution. Maybe then muggers and such like would think twice.
GLADYS ROBINSON (Mrs), Edge End, Great Harwood.
