people out REGARDING your report (LET, November 13), how much longer do we have to put up with Blackburn with Darwen Council persecuting people over karaoke evenings?
It doesn't take an electrical genius to realise that one karaoke machine and one backing tape with vocals does not use as much current as a live group with two guitars, one keyboard and, most times, six to eight speakers and amplifiers.
Let's be sensible and reasonable and call a halt to this pigheaded persecution. Or is this bunch of councillors frightened of losing face?
I could point out a lot of pubs which don't have pyro-wiring, but are safe. They are correctly wired with ordinary wiring of the loading standard required.
It appears the council is not satisfied with driving people out of town with the present traffic chaos. They are pushing away people looking for entertainment elsewhere as well.
P BROADLEY (Mr), Beechwood Drive, Blackburn.
