MEMBERS of Pendle Council's executive will be asked to approve a new staff structure in its development control section in response to the recent recommendations by the Best Value Inspectorate.
They will be asked at a meeting on Thursday to give the go-ahead to three new posts, subject to the approval of a growth bid in the forthcoming budget and agreement by the staff.
These would include the appointment of an enforcement officer and the creation of a development control administrative support unit.
The unit would be supervised by a senior support officer who would be responsible for the maintenance and development of the planning IT system.
It was suggested this post could be filled by internal promotion with the existing post not refilled.
