OAKHILL Clarion Cycling Club is inviting all young cyclists in the Ribble Valley to test their skills in a special competition at Oakhill College, Wiswell Lane, Whalley, on Saturday December 1, from 10am to noon. It will include a course to test the children's balance, skills and confidence in a safe, traffic-free environment.
There are three categories for both boys and girls in school year groups: Year 2 and under, Years 3,4 and 5, and Years 6,7 and 8. The winners of each group will receive certificates and prizes.
Club secretary Charles Jepson said: "Youngsters can bring any kind of cycle and no experience is necessary as skills training will be given on the day. Each competitor will have a practice attempt before their timed run."
Cycling helmets are compulsory, with gloves recommended. Entry is £3. For more details contact Mr Jepson at Oakhill College on 01254 823546.
