MOTORISTS in Rambsottom are being urged to find alternative routes if they can to avoid road resurfacing works which begin next week.
Whalley Road will be resurfaced from November 27 to December 12 and traffic congestion is expected.
Motorists are advised to use Bury New Road to get on to the A56 from Ramsbottom as temporary traffic lights will be operating on the Peel Brown and Walley Road junction.
The roadworks will be restricted to working from 9.30am to 4pm on each day to minimise problems to rush hour travellers.
