STUDENTS at St Wilfrid's High School and Technology College in Blackburn achieved some of the best sociology results in the country, while helping to make their school one of the top in sport at the same time, said headteacher David Whyte.
Mr Whyte, speaking at the celebration evening, said the school was not only one of only four in the North West to be awarded a sportsmark, but it had also received a letter from the Chief Examiner for Sociology, praising students for getting three of the five top marks nationally.
Chairman of the governors Matthew Grant said: "In a world which seems to have turned upside down over the past few months we need to ensure that moral standpoints are structured within the framework of a Christian understanding of our place in the world."
