RAMSBOTTOM made it four wins on the bounce when they recorded a last gasp victory over high flying Prescot Cables in the NWCL Division One.
Both sides had early chances with Prescot's Gary Jensen testing Rams keeper Allan Fairbrother while Cables goalkeeper Carl Dahl kept out a shot from David Yorke-Robinson and then somehow blocked Steve Brennan's strike from the rebound.
The home side made the breakthrough five minutes before half time when a spell of pressure led to full back Mike Williamson's well flighted chip shot finding the Ramsbottom net and giving Fairbrother no chance.
Fairbrother flung his giant frame at the feet of Jensen as Prescot threatened a second goal. But Russell Brierley, back after a 14 day suspension, came close for the Rams when he outpaced the home defence but had to be satisfied with winning a corner kick from which defender Stephen Sheil headed over the top.
Ramsbottom deservedly drew level on 65 minutes, Jamie Taylor showed great skill and vision in setting up Yorke-Robinson who fired a fierce first time drive into the Cables' net from 12 yards.
In the final 20 minutes Ramsbottom shaded the attacking play and in the 90th minute found a winner when yet another Taylor free kick was drive into the danger area where Brad Franks powered in a low diving header to snatch all three points.
