MPs called for a cut in the duty on beer to stop North West drug barons using bootlegging to finance their trade.
Members of the Parliamentary Beer Club, including Ribble Valley MP Nigel Evans wanted to stop organised criminals using profits from smuggled booze to fund drug deals.
