AN inquest has been opened into the death of a mother- of- three who was believed to have taken drugs prescribed for herself and her husband.
Bury District Coroner Mr Barrie Williams was opening the hearing into the case of Mrs Alison Jayne Warrington (29), of Cross Street, Radcliffe, a member of a Radcliffe scrap merchant family, whose condition deteriorated after admission to hospital on November 9.
Mrs Warrington had a history of depression and was said to have made previous attempts to harm herself. She was on long-term sickness benefit and had had psychiatric treatment.
Coroner's officer Mr Geoff Cave said Mrs Warrington had left a letter and a mobile phone message addressed to her family. Police had concluded there had been no evidence of foul play or third party involvement in Mrs Warrington's death. After a post-mortem, samples had been sent off for toxicological analysis.
The coroner, accordingly, adjourned the hearing for the submission of further medical reports.
