DOZENS of charity champs across Preston and South Ribble enjoyed a string of fun activities to raise buckets of cash for Children in Need on Friday, November 16.
Staff at the Skipton Building Society, Fishergate, donned schoolgirl outfits and organised a host of raffles, games, colouring competitions and a coffee morning, raising £300. The building society's area manager David Crystal had his beard shaved off and pulled in £200.
At Preston's HSBC Bank there were plenty of fundraising events throughout the day, including a visit from the charity's mascot Pudsey Bear. In total the Fishergate branch raised £2,500 for the charity.
And student teacher Clare Hogdson was given a lesson she will never forget at Tulketh High School, Preston, after taking part in a fancy dress 24-mile marathon walk from the Tag Lane school to Blackpool Tower to raise money for Children in Need and the in-school 'house' scheme Fylde House.
Clare's aching feet got the better of her as she reached Lytham -- a few miles short of the finish line -- and she had to bow out of the charity trek which has raised around £1,000.
