A BURNLEY pub landlord today said he was making every effort to make his customers feel safe after two stolen cars were abandoned and burned on waste land close to his premises.
John Duff says that since taking over the Black Bull, in Marsden Road, he has taken a number of steps to improve security.
He said: "We have a CCTV camera in the car park that runs continuously and a floodlight.
"If there is anyone messing with cars, the first people who get to know about it are the police.
"When I took over the pub it had a bit of a bad reputation but we have worked very to improve it and I think we have done a good job.
"In the 16 months since I have been here we have never had any incidence of a car being stolen from our car park."
The stolen cars were abandoned on a disused recreation ground to the rear of the Black Bull but there have been no reports of cars being left in their car park.
