A GROUP of youngsters from Walverden Primary School in Nelson got stuck in to a bit of gardening yesterday when they helped Pendle's park rangers plant 2,000 daffodill bulbs.
They spent an hour in Walverden Park planting the bulbs along the main drive way and will be hoping to catch a glimpse of their hard work when the flowers come up next spring.
Head ranger Allan Hammett said: "The children were fantastic and we got a lot of bulbs planted in 40 minutes. I don't think they wanted to go back to school afterwards."
