A COUPLE of former international keepers will be in opposition tonight and both have been in good form this season.
Former Tranmere keeper Danny Coyne won his only cap for Wales against Switzerland five years ago but his impressive displays this season have put him back in the international picture.
Coyne, 28, was born in Prestatyn and was an ever present as the Mariners avoided relegation by four points last season.
He has also played in every game this season and was outstanding in the shock Worthington Cup win at Anfield.
Nik Michopoulos has put a couple of costly blunders behind him in the last four games, only allowing Pompey's Peter Crouch to find the Clarets net.
In that game he produced three outstanding saves but on Saturday he could virtually have kept a clean sheet with his hands tied behind his back.
Michopoulos is hoping that his current form will be noticed by the national manager as he still has dreams of adding to his 13 caps, all collected while playing for PAOK Salonika.
Tonight's match is his 60th successive game in the Clarets goal since he took over from Paul Crichton early last season.
Another shut-out would be the perfect way to mark the occasion. A case for international rescue.
