ANY Penwortham resident can't help but notice the profusion of dining places throughout the district.
One can choose from many cuisines -- Indian, Italian, Chinese and so on. And there should not be one untidy hair-do in the entire village, the way we are served by a multitude of hairdressers.
Yet when hundreds of us who are patients at St Fillian's Health Centre plead for the installation of a pharmacy upon the premises we are refused! The sick and elderly need a convenient service after seeing the doctors.
To the authority responsible I say once more with feeling -- give us a chemist.
Hugh Bell, Stanley Grove, Penwortham, Preston.
