A FRAMEWORK for environmental improvements to the Leeds and Liverpool canal, between Nelson and Brierfield, has been agreed in principle by members of the council's executive.
The plan, put together by Groundwork East Lancashire, will be put out to public consultation and comments received on the proposals, which would take up around £700,000 of the area's SRB6 funding, will be reported back to the executive early next year.
Action included in the framework would contribute to the physical environment of the canal corridor and along primary transport routes linking the canal to other nearby areas of open space.
