Ramsbottom United 3 Kidsgrove 6
AN action packed game at the Riverside will be remembered more for inconsistent officiating rather than high level entertainment.
With defender Dave Roach out of it through injury after ten minutes and Kidsgrove a goal up, the Rams' Karl Brown was sent off for two bookings in two minutes. Jamie Taylor was hit in an off-the-ball incident which resulted in concussion and another substitution. Even so United battled back to 4-3 through man of the match Steve Orrell, David Yorke-Robinson and Simon Shiel before being hit by a controversial penalty decision and late sixth goal for the visitors. "Yet again officialdom has contributed more to a game than it should," fumed club manager Mike Kelly.
