A SPECIAL Christmas treat is to be set up in Accrington's The Duke of Wellington with the aim of helping underprivileged youngsters.
Newark Street Garage has donated a Christmas tree to be put in the Abbey Street pub with the hope of putting some smiles on children's faces.
As well as the usual decorations the tree will contain cards with the first names and ages of children who might otherwise go without presents this year.
Drinkers in the pub will then be able to view the cards and donate a present fitting to a boy or girl of the appropriate age.
The idea came from Robert Tuffnell and the Centurian Lodge of Buffaloes who meet at Rishton's Free Gardeners club.
Anyone who would like to suggest a child to benefit from the scheme can call into the pub or hand a card to any M and M Coaches driver to give to Bob.
