ROSSENDALE UNITED are staging a fund-raiser for injured players Steve Bird and John Borland.
Bird has been unable to work since suffering a long-term injury while playing for Dale.
And former Burnley pro Borland has decided to quit the game after failing to overcome a back injury.
Bird suffered a double fracture to his leg in the epic FA Cup tie against Barrow last month and there is doubt as to whether he will play again. He will be definitely out for the rest of the season and has been so far unable to return to work.
Borland has struggled with a back problem for more than 12 months and despite numerous attempts at a comeback, has decided to retire from football.
Dale bosses thanked the gifted midfielder, who helped Dale re-establish themselves in non-League football.
To raise money for the pair, former Manchester City and England winger David White is bringing a celebrity all-star team to play against a Rossendale United all-star side this Sunday at Dark Lane.
Stars from Hollyoaks, Coronation Street and Brookside will be turning out.
Tickets for the game cost just £5 which includes food and live entertainment after the game in the clubhouse.
