THE extravagantly-named Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomen's Guild Dramatic Society is back.
The society will present a new murder mystery at the Leisure Hall, Bacup, next week -- courtesy of The Rossendale Players. It's all done for laughs, of course, thanks to writers David McGillivray and Walter Zerlin Junior.
Players' publicity officer Stanley Whittaker explained: "After amazing us four years ago with their dinner-theatre interpretation of A Christmas Carol the ladies of the FAHETGDS have graciously accepted our invitation to present Murder at Checkpoint Manor.
"It's a cunning thriller and another ambitious undertaking by the the ladies, who are led once again by the intrepid Phoebe Reece."
This time the ladies have ingeniously incorporated a film show, fashion show and murder mystery quiz into the dramatic proceedings.
The cast is: Gordon -- Geoffrey Jackson; Felicity -- Penny Griffin; Audrey -- Kirsten Dunkley; Phoebe Reece -- Maureen Jackson; Thelma -- Elaine Ives. Len Taylor is directing.
The Players will be on stage on Wednesday and Thursday at 7.30pm. Friday and Saturday are already sold out, but there are dinner-theatre tickets available for next Sunday night at £17.
Show tickets cost £5 (concessions £4) and are available by phone on 01706 228720 and from Bacup News, St James Street, Bacup, or Quix @ Watts News , Burnley Road East, Waterfoot.
