THINGS balance themselves out over a season. Having lost at Sedgley Park to the last play of the game in the sixth minute of injury time, Hoppers won with the last play of this game in the second minute of injury time.
A towering drop goal from the halfway line from Chris Glynn was the method and two important points went into the bag.
The London side had arrived an hour behind schedule thanks to delays on the rail network. A late kick off was the result and not surprisingly it was Hoppers who appeared the better prepared. An eighth minute Glynn penalty opened the scoring.
Hoppers best chance was wasted as a James Porteous pass found no takers. But Hoppers were well on top and soon claimed a try.
A pass to Paul Barrow was low, but the centre got a foot to the ball. Barrow won the race for the touchdown and Glynn converted. But Barrow turned villain as his midfield pass found an opponent and Park mounted an attack. Although initially held they remained in Hoppers territory finally scoring under the posts.
After the break, Park continued to hold the upper hand. Problems at the scrum saw them take the lead through a penalty try. Maddock added the extra points.
A Glynn penalty reduced the arrears to one point as Hoppers began to take the game to their opponents. Two late penalty chances were fruitless but Glynn's final throw of the dice took the spoils.
Final score: Preston Grasshoppers 16 Rosslyn Park 14
