The home side had a two-year unbeaten record and took the lead in thefirst half, but by the interval YMCA had levelled. After the restart YMCA began to adapt to the very heavy and narrow pitch and stunned Morecambe by shooting into a 4-1 lead with a highly impressive period of football. THE score flattered BJFF, who were actually trailing 1-0 at half-time having had the majority of play. BJFF scorers: Dalton (2), Few (2), Garcia (2), Richardson, Marlow and Swann.

Thornton U13s 15 Our Lady U15s 0

ADD to the scoreline the fact that Our Lady's keeper made some exceptional saves and that the home defence didn't concede so much as a corner, and you pretty much get the picture. That is not to disparage the visitors who battled throughout, but is testimony to the all-round quality of Thornton's play, particularly in the crucial early exchanges. Notable performances came from Charles Park, Steve Barnes, Scott Gowland and Chris Threlfall and among some well-crafted goals was a stunner from Scott Dobie. The scorers were Mark Adams, Charles Park, Kevin Murray, Anthony Wilson, Scott Dobie and Sam Gordon. Man of the match Charles Park.

Lytham U15s 12 Thornton U15s 0

EIGHT-MAN Thornton did the best they could. Thanks must go to stand-in manager Stuart Sibbald who faced an unenviable task when injury hit the squad and the manager. T.J. Clarke was Thornton's best player on the day.
