AFTER the goalscoring free-for-all by LSA's opponents over the past three weeks, a reorganised defence -- including their North West Under-15 player Stuart Waby -- resulted in a very satisfactory victory.
In a rather scrappy first half LSA captain Richard McGee, supported by some strong tackling from Chris Simcock, managed to nullify the Springfields forward line.
Tom Atkinson scored following a penalty corner after a period of sustained pressure. Then during the second half LSA took full advantage of the space available behind the Springfields back line and David Robbins set up Craig Nuttall for the first of his two goals in a polished striking performance. Springfields created a number of chances only to be denied by some excellent Dafydd Jones goalkeeping. Craig Nuttall then sealed the victory when he rounded the goalkeeper for an easy tap in. Young Waby remained solid all game for a very well deserved deputation.
