ARTIST Ron Parkinson is staging an exhibition of watercolours and drawings, including some local scenes, at Lytham Library from December 1 to 29.

GET into the Christmas spirit at a Christmas Sing by the Christian Science Church, Wood Street, on December 9 at 3pm. Well-loved carols, solo piano and vocal performances will be included, and song sheets will be provided. The Christmas story will also be read from the Gospels. PLAY games and meet Santa at St Mary's Church Christmas Fair on December 1. There will be stalls and refreshments at the fair, which starts at 1pm at the Church Hall in Mayfield Avenue. All welcome.
THE Blackpool Forum will play host to Mr M. Lambert (cardiovascular surgeon) tomorrow (Friday) at the Carleton Hotel, North Promenade, from 7.30pm. His subject will be surgeon's tales and new members and guests will be warmly welcomed. Call 628781 for details.
OH yes it is! It's pantomime time! Trinity Theatre Group will present Hansel and Gretel at the Memorial Hall, Dean Street, South Shore, at 2.30pm on December 2 and 8 and at 7.30pm on December 5, 6 and 7. ALL the fun of the fair can be had at Waterloo Methodist Church's Christmas Fair on December 1. There will be stalls -- including cakes and home-made preserves -- a tombola, games and lunches. The fair is at the church on Spen Corner from 11am to 1pm. Admission is free.
HEAR Ian McCormack's thrilling tale of coming back to life after being stung by a jellyfish while scuba diving. Back From The Dead will be at the King's Christian Centre, Warley Road, (opposite Hilton) on December 13 from 7.30pm.
GARSTANG
O COME all ye faithful! Wyre Mayor David Sharples invites the public to a civic carol service at Garstang Parish Church of St Helen, Churchtown, on December 14 at 7pm. The Poulton-le-Fylde Band and Garstang High School Choir will provide the music and singing. Mulled wine and mince pies will be available in the Church Hall after the service. Tickets are £2.50, available from the Mayor's secretary on 887460. All proceeds will go towards the mayoral charities -- Autism Initiatives, Farmer Parr's (Fleetwood) and the Vine House (Cancer Care), Garstang.
POULTON

FLEETWOOD
ENJOY the Christmas season at Farmer Parr's. Father Christmas will be in residence at the Farm throughout December from 10am to 8pm weekdays and until 5pm at weekends, helping the Autistic Society to raise funds. There will also be a live Nativity to take part in and children can pet the baby llama, miniature donkey, maybe some newborn lambs and feed the reindeer. For further information call 874389.

MUSIC lovers can enjoy a concert by Fleetwood and District Choral Society at the Marine Hall on December 8 at 7.30pm. It will open with Handel's overture The Arrival of the Queen of Sheba and will include three of Handel's coronation anthems and Vivaldi's Gloria. A GRAND Christmas coffee morning will be held at Thornton Cleveleys Wings Club, Victoria Road West, on December 1 from 10am to noon. Santa will be in his grotto and there will be tombola, bric-a-brac, raffles and more. Admission is 50p and includes coffee and a mince pie.
FATHER Christmas will travel along Luton Road in a pony and trap on his way to Anchorsholme Methodist Church's Christmas Fair at 11am on December 1. He arrives at Kelso Avenue at 10.30am and will travel the length of Luton Road to open the fair at 11am. Give Santa your support by lining his route to cheer him on!
STEP out and try modern sequence dancing with Bernard and Audrey every Wednesday at the Senior Citizen Hall, Victoria Road West, from 7pm-10pm. New dances taught. Everyone welcome. Call 351736.
BISPHAM
SANTA will be in attendance from noon to 1pm at a Christmas Craft Fair in Bispham United Reformed Church Hall, Warbreck Drive, on December 1. The fair is open from 11.30am to 3pm and there will be a variety of stalls, games and light refreshments. Admission is 30p for adults, with no charge for children. All welcome.
CAROLS sung by children from Moor Park Infant School will be the highlight of Bispham United Reformed Church Ladies' Friendship Group's Christmas coffee morning on December 5 at 10.30am in the church hall on Warbreck Drive. There will also be various stalls and a great festive atmosphere. Coffee and mince pie will be 50p. The November coffee morning raised £212 for Missions to Chernobyl.
MAKE a note! Blackpool Ladies Choir are presenting Music for Christmas at Springfield Methodist Church, Bispham Road, on Wednesday, December 5, starting at 7.30pm. The £2 admission fee will include coffee and mince pies.
