FOUR young cricket fans, including one from Burnley, arrested during an outbreak of hooliganism during the presentations at the end of the National Westminster one-day international between Australia and Pakistan at Lords on June 23 this year, were remanded on bail until December 18 at Horseferry Road Court in Westminster on Friday.
Aussie cricketer Mike Bevan was hit by a missile during the disturbances at the ground on June 23 this year.
The magistrates agreed to delay the next hearing until December 18 rather than an earlier proposed date of December 14, so that the defendants would not have to appear at court during Ramadan.
All four accused, including students of 16 and 17, who cannot be named for legal reasons, are all charged with affray, using or threatening violence towards another. They are: Haroon Qureshi, 19, of Victoria Avenue, East Ham, East London; Pakistani-born Samiullah Khan, 19, a student, of Portland Road, South Norwood, South London; a 17-year-old student from Oxford Road, Burnley and a 16-year-old from Barking Road, Plaistow, East London.
