ACCRINGTON and Rossendale College lecturer Jim Doran made a marathon effort when he decided to walk to work for charity.
Jim lives in Southport and had to walk 26 miles before he arrived at the Sandy Lane site were he works as a support tutor.
His efforts raised £500 for Macmillan Cancer Relief. He presented his cheque to Leanne Berry, North West representative for the charity, and Mary Barton, one of the many members of college staff who greeted Jim at the end of his marathon trek.
