BURY Football Club has a new Robbie the Bobby after the former mascot was sacked for bad behaviour.
Anthony Bersz, a friend of mid-fielder Paul O'Shoughnessy, has stepped into Jonathan Pollard's shoes after it was agreed that he should step down from the £20-a-game post.
Mr Pollard's dismissal followed his latest sending off -- his third in four games -- at a match with Lincoln. He established a reputation as the worst behaved mascot in Britain, receiving worldwide media attention including having his bad boy antics aired on American television.
But club chairman Terry Robinson was unwilling to elaborate on his new found Robbie.
He said: "Robbie the Bobby is the mascot and he does not change, it is not about the man inside him -- he should remain a mystery."
